Part Two Results – Site 27

Ballot Box

Site 27 Part Two voting has come to a close. It seems everyone is enjoying the new story and I’m glad for that. My intent for Site 27 is to be a lot more “fun” than The Relic. Not sure I can elaborate on that without spoiling anything, but I hope you find the adventure uh, fun.

The voting for this week was practically a landslide. Either you really hated the idea of encountering the severed foot again, or you really think I’m going to reveal all when we get to the mainframe.

HA HA! You guys are hilarious!

Anyway, here’s how the votes stacked up:

A (Head to the mainframe): 21
B (Secure your escape route): 7

Mainframe it is!

And now for my favorite votes this week:

Amber: To the mainframe! ‘Cause I’m pretty sure that foot is still outside hatch two. Also, I’m hoping that maybe there’s Pong or something on the mainframe. If I’m trapped, I may as well play some games.

Richard Smith: Down the hatch… onward to the mainframe… If I see anyone keying the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42… I will shoot them.

John McBurney: Have to vote A… you know B isn’t going to let you out anyway. lol

Oh, ye of little faith. You were never going to make it back to the other hatch anyway!

And now for my free fiction recommends for the week:

This weekend I read an urban fantasy short story called Blindsight by Kait Nolan. It’s action-packed, slick, and I’m impressed with the idea of using it as a teaser for her book series. Here’s the story blurb:

Isla’s ability as a Seer has made her a life-long captive of a paranormal crime lord. Fae assassin, Ransom, offers her a chance at escape, but when she touches his hand she sees only blood, horror, apocalypse. What reason can Ransom have for wanting to rescue her, and can she possibly trust a man who deals in death?

You can pick it up on Smashwords or at Amazon.com.

Steven Montano has updated his Tales of a Blood Earth webseries, based on his post-apocalyptic novel, Blood Skies. Click here for Part 11.

If you participated in the Blood Skies giveaway we had during The Relic but didn’t win a copy, I have good news: Smashwords.com is having a site-wide 50% off sale. Grab an ecopy of Blood Skies and use code SSW50 for the discount. It’s a great book and Steven just wrapped up the first draft of its sequel. Catch up now while you can. It’s a gritty, action-packed adventure. There are grenades and vampires. Also camels.

Camels. Serious business. (For me, anyway.)

Enjoy your week and I will see you guys on Friday when we head off to the mainframe!
